best customer service ever
I’m actually not even being sarcastic about that, I just had the best customer service experience ever with Amazon. My Kindle screen is broken, it turns out, and I was so sure the warranty wouldn’t cover it (since the Amazon website says the warranty doesn’t cover breaks) but before I slapped down $140 of money I don’t have for a new one I decided to give calling the Kindle...

Galchen: Who and what lives and happens in The Great Night?
Adrian: The Great Night is a retelling of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream set in Buena Vista Park in San Francisco in the summer of 2008. Three people—two men and a woman—get lost in the park on their way to a party and have a common adventure involving fairies, a monster, and the ghosts of their recently deceased romantic...

Well it is. And the cover is black, people! It’s awesome.

here's a question for you
How is it that I can keep revising this novel and yet never get farther than halfway through? Let me answer my question with a question: why do I keep ADDING PAGES? I think when I sent this to J and D the ms was 387 pgs. Now it’s 410. And, may I remind you, I’m only halfway through. I actually have a series of scenes I plan to add. It’ll probably turn out being about 425/430...

i've been watching a lot of Hulu lately
And I’ve seen the Hot in Cleveland promo like 80 billion times. I’ve never seen the show and don’t care to (Betty White was cooler when she wasn’t cool), but whenever I see it I think: as a species we can create Avatar, but we haven’t quite figured out how to make fake snow that looks real? I mean seriously Hollywood.
